On September 2017, the COMPASS benefits administered by the state of Georgia were changed to Georgia Gateway. If you do not have a COMPASS account, there is the option to create a new account on the official Georgia Gateway website. With your account, get access and help in the following areas online:
- Apply or renew benefits
- Save all applications for future use
- Check benefits details
- Receive notifications
- Upload health related documents
- Send reports related to changes in case
Register with Georgia Gateway
It takes a few minutes to create your Gateway account at the official website. You must keep all the required information handy to avoid session expiry (if you are inactive for 15 minutes).

Click Create Account button just below the Login box to get started
Fill in all the information-
Step 1: Name
Step 2: Setup username and password, check whether you are an Authorized Representative or not
Step 3: Select and setup 3 secret questions (for account security) from the drop down menu and create answers
Step 4: Check the box to accept the User Acceptance Agreement
Once you are done with all the steps, click the Create Account button to proceed. Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen and fill in the required information correctly to complete the account sign up successfully.
Note: If your session expires at any time, you may click the Continue button in green to proceed or click Exit to leave the page.
You may check the eligibility for all of the abovementioned benefits on the Gateway website. To take an assessment, you may use the online tool by click the ‘AM I ELIGIBLE?’ tab on the homepage https://gateway.ga.gov/access/.
If you qualify for any of the benefits, you can click the Create Account tab and click the ‘Apply for benefits’ on the top of the online registration form.
It takes around an hour or less to fill out an application form online so take sufficient time to fill in the information correctly. While applying for Food Stamps, Medical Assistance or TANF, you will need to provide your SSN for alien status/ citizenship verification.
