BSNL Offering 20GB 3G Internet for Rs 50 is a Hoax!

News on a social media that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BNSL) is offering 20GB for just Rs 50 has driven everyone crazy recently.

There was also a rumour that the 20 GB data pack can be shared among five users, so other for a user can use it for free. Many took it as Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Digital India’ initiative and the 20GB of data was available at unbelievable as the subsidized offer from the Modi government.

There were plenty of the post claiming that BSNL is to beat every internet data operator by offering such a data pack. Many found it hard to believe and considered it as a hoax. Even the post on the media went further with the information that to get the benefits of the scheme, all BSNL users interested in buying the data pack were to fill out an application form at the BSNL safe care portal and you would be asked to mention other four numbers with which the user could share data with.

BSNL has now officially confirmed on Sunday that it is a hoax. Sanjay Kumar, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, BSNL has said that they don’t have any such plans and the company doesn’t have any idea about how and from where the rumour sourced. With this, all the rumours have come to rest.

The state-run telecom BSNL is soon going to provide hosting and email services which allow users to retrieve emails deleted as long as 30 years ago with the domains @bsnl.in , @sancharnet.in, @dataone.in and others hosted with BSNL. It has already started the facility for retrieving emails deleted within last 15 days.
